Role

Technology Architect with good hands on knowledge in Oracle PL/SQL Performance Tuning

Job Responsibilities

ü  Evaluates impacts of the SQL on overall system performance and provides solutions for optimization

ü  Tune SQLs developed by development team (manual tuning) to ensure optimal execution

ü  Analyze and recommend schema changes for optimal database performance

ü  Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues in multiple environments (such as development and SQA). Also to provide assistance in resolving performance issues in production database

ü  Manage multiple Oracle 10g databases in development environment including administration and maintenance

ü  Develop, maintain and execute scripts for large scale data extraction, transition and loading

ü  Develop, maintain and execute data archiving and purging scripts, procedures and shell scripts

ü  Data modeling using Erwin

ü  Support development, SQA and Operations teams during production deployments

ü  Analyze current operational procedures, identify problems and recommend solutions for optimization

Technical skills required

ü  Candidate must have at least 2 years of experience in SQL tuning. (60: 40-20)

ü  Experience in database administration is desired, but can be scaled up. (20:10-10)

ü  Comprehensive knowledge of Oracle data dictionary (Implicitly covered in point 1).

ü  Experience on SQL loader and data pump (Good to have, but can be scaled up). (5: 0-5)

ü  Familiarity with AWR analysis.(5: 2-5)

ü  Hands-on experience on PL/SQL programming. (Good to have, but can be scaled up) (5: 1-2)

ü  Unix Shell scripting. (5: 2-5)

ü  Ability to work with multiple teams in a fast paced environment.

ü  Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a group setting.  Consistent and proper communication to management and team is a crucial factor that contributes to the success of the team

ü  Good organizational skills

Behavioral skills required

·   Excellent ability to convince multiple stakeholders

·   Good communication and listening skills

Desirable technical/behavioral skills

·   Good knowledge of Siebel CRM, Database

Typical level of experience

7+ years

Education

Minimum BS/BE/MCA
