Must have skills:
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering or relevant field required. 2-5 years demonstrated experience with n-tier web application development and experience in latest JDK and earlier releases required. Candidates must be able to articulate experience with many of the major Java APIS (e.g. JMS, JPA, JNDI, EJB, RMI, JAX, etc.); J2EE certification a plus. Candidates do have to show practical experience with Spring Framework, Hibernate and SQL; 2 years of experience is not a must. Candidates must have experience with web services standards and related technologies (XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, WS*, AXIS).
Nice to have skills:
Payments background a plus.
Preference on industry background or previous companies worked for:
Payments background, but not required.
Description:
The Consumer Platform team is building a new generation of applications to facilitate commerce in everyone's new digital lives. Our focus is to build profoundly simple to use apps that embed into our customers' everyday lives. The team member will be responsible for designing and implementing new services and tools for Consumer and Cloud Based Payment offerings. We are looking for self-motivated stars who will adopt our best practices to minimize operational overhead with automation testing, code reviews, static analysis tools, and support for continuous integration/deployment. Be able to coordinate and manage input from business and technology stakeholders across the enterprise and be responsible for the design and execution of large-scale technology initiatives. To be successful, team members must design and build highly available, secure, scalable, reliable and manageable systems.
Responsibility level:
Exercises independent judgment with minimal direction from supervisor.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop services and tools in Java and Spring supporting millions of consumers
Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information in computer files against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification or disclosure
Develop standards and guidelines to guide the use and acquisition of software and to protect vulnerable information
