Title: PeopleSoft Database Administrator
Location: Albany, NY
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 6+ Months
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Database Administration Manager, the PeopleSoft Database Administrator would be responsible for, but not limited to, the following activities:
- Participate in the implementation of and technical support of the database environments (including data definition, installation, modification and maintenance) for the new System;
- Participate in the implementation of and technical support of the database environments for ancillary products associated with the Project;
- Participate in the development and execution of database cloning activities including environment-specific configuration management and reconciliation;
- Ensure that the Database Administration Managersare made aware of emerging issues dealing with any of the database environments associated with the Project;
- Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of detailed technical designs, and procedures for data modeling, capacity planning, performance analysis, tuning, monitoring, change control and database management in accordance with the existing systems standards as well as any other applicable standards.
- Develop plans for proactive monitoring, diagnosing, and correcting database problems (i.e., data corruption, contention, incorrect indexes, CPU utilization, etc);
- Participate in the development and implementation of backup, recovery and contingency/disaster planning;
- Conduct knowledge transfer/mentoring sessions with Database Administration project staff and others as needed; provide documentation for all activities/tasks assigned including repeatable step by step procedures.

| Minimum Qualifications | |||
| At least five (5) years of experience in database administration including a minimum of five (5) years experience utilizing Oracle relational databases, which encompasses installing, managing, upgrading and supporting relational databases in a complex PeopleSoft and enabling technologies environment. |

| Successful candidate will be able to demonstrate strong experience supporting multiple PeopleSoft implementations. |

| Installing, upgrading and supporting Oracle database software and the associated Oracle Technology stack in a multi-tier environment including:
Demonstrated experience administering Oracle Database 11gR2 including at least 5 of the following components: · Real Application Clusters (RAC) · Automatic Storage Management (ASM) · Oracle Data Guard · RMAN · OEM Grid Control or OEM Cloud Control · Advanced Security Option · Database Vault · Advanced Compression · Database Firewall · Various Oracle management packs (candidate should specify management packs in which they are experienced) · Oracle Partitioning |
