SN Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role
1 Database design and installation
- Install and upgrade the database management system and other related software, and configure hardware and software with the
System administrators.
- Confirm data volume and availability requirements, and make recommendation for servers/CPU, server configurations, clustering,
And so on.
- Create Physical data models based on Logical data models, which created by Data Architect, taking into account of a given
Database management system.
- Design, create and administrate database, database files, and database of schemas.
- Design, create and administrate database security -- add and removing users, audit, and check security problems.
2 Database maintenance & turn-up
- Proactively monitor systems and identify performance and capacity constraints and problems
- Optimize and homogenize the performance of databases by using various database turning techniques.
- Plan and execute database maintenance – backups, de-fragmentations, etc.
3 Development support
- Establish standards and best practices for SQL, and interact with and coach developers in SQL scripting.
- Develop and run scripts for data repair.
- Create database maintenance and recovery guide
