Responsibilities:
West metro company looking for a contract or possible contract to hire Oracle DBA for project work. The corporate IT culture is energetic, collaborative and creative.
1.) Large Oracle database for a production application that needs to be tuned, backed up, and supported with 24x7 uptime.
2.) Large reporting database (7 TB) that needs to have regular reliable backups and ultimately needs to be translated into a SQL database.
3.) Future enterprise applications are based on SQL databases so will eventually need to support a production SQL environment.
Requirements:
· Needs to be comfortable providing 24x7 uptime support for enterprise application Oracle DB
· Strong knowledge of Oracle 10g and 11g
· Familiarity with creation, maintenance, and restoration from standby databases
· Strong, practical, functional familiarity with RMAN and ASM
· Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with complex queries
· Needs to be able to produce documentation regarding any new changes or techniques implemented as well as around any problem resolutions used during normal maintenances
· Strong understanding of SQL DB maintenance with regard to uptime
· Experience with ELT packages, such as Scribe or SSIS a plus
