Title: Senior DW Developer
Location: Herndon, VA
Duration: 6 Months
Need Local Resources only.
KEY FOCUS POINTS:
• Strong Data Warehouse Background
• Hands-on experience in SQL, PL/SQL and one or many ETL Tools
• Most preferred ETL Tool – ODI. This is a big plus
• Must have experience working with XML data with/without ODI
• Experience on data conversion and migration projects is another plus
• Experience working in Oracle databases
• Strong Communication and Analytical Skills
• Self-driven with an ability to work closely with business analysts and development team to work towards quality product rollout
• Worked in environments that demand fast paced effective delivery under tight timeline/budget
DESCRIPTION
The Senior Data Warehouse Developer works as a key member of the data warehouse etl and report development team. The incumbent collaborates with a cross-functional team including Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) & Report Developers, Business & Data Analysts, Solution Architects, Project Managers, Quality Assurance Engineers, Database Administrators, Business Analysts, Product Owners & Business Users, to deliver end-to-end reporting solutions for K12's customers
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Designs and develops reporting products using SQL, PL/SQL and ETL tools; works collaboratively with developers to accomplish project goals;
• Acts as a resource for users and team members to solve reporting questions, problems and new change requests;
• Able to Design dimensional models for existing and new Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) source systems;
• Participates in User Acceptance Testing (UAT), data analysis and troubleshooting for existing products;
• Ability to Optimize SQL, PL/SQL, ETL code and database objects to ensure solid performance and uptime for production reporting systems and products;
• Participates in meetings with executives and business sponsors to discuss project status and activities.
• Able to produce technical design documentation;
Participates in project code development, troubleshooting and enhancement in collaboration with development team members, where required
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• B.S. in Computer Science AND
• Ten (10) years in a senior technologist capacity OR
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Experience in a diverse range of technologies with an Oracle focus:
o Data Warehouse and ETL design & best practices
o BI and reporting tools (Oracle Business Intelligence)
o ETL tools (Oracle Data Integrator, Informatica)
o Oracle Fusion Middleware, WebLogic
o Database administration & configuration (11g)
o Big Data and NoSQL
o Database and procedural Structured Query Language (SQL) tuning and optimization
o Query explain plan, Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) query processing
o Hardware & cluster configurations for database products
o Data storage (NetApp, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Storage Area Network (SAN))
o Change data capture and real-time replication/real-time ETL (DataGuard, GoldenGate, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI))
o Management of an ODS and Data Warehouse cluster (11g)
o Use of Web Services for data exchange (SOAP, XML)
• Demonstrated success in a variety of roles within IT
• Deep knowledge of data warehouse and reporting design, processes and best practices
• Strong experience with an Oracle technology platform and Oracle databases
• Very strong communication skills, comfort interfacing with technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to travel 5% of the time
• Ability to pass required background check
